It has taken a toll in children leading to increased numbers of school dropouts. Extreme trauma leads to mental disorders and changes in social relationships. Scholars argue that trauma remains inherited from one generation to another. This form of trauma is referred to as intergenerational trauma. Children can inherit distress from their parents. Parents who expose their children to family violence and break ups cause trauma to them. Warring parents make their children live a life of withdrawal full of self-questioning leading to lose of concentration in schools. Intergenerational was evident among survivors of Nazi Holocaust and Vietnam War victims. Children who survived from these devastating moments suffer from trauma. Their trauma does not emanate from experien ces in this wars but from the experiences of their family members. Culture plays a significant role in control of trauma in societies. Culture defines social life of individuals, which provides rules and norms for societies. People adhere to social norms because of mechanisms put in place, to ensure that members adhere to norms and rules. Society can enact negative sanction on people and intimidation makes people follow norms to the later. Breakdowns in culture and social integration lead to trauma. This is because culture and families give people a sense of belonging making them feel secure. Trauma is costly because it has negative effects on societies. It lowers productivity leading to decline in standards of living. Individuals should begin the process of trauma confrontation by accepting victims in societies. They should not deny and blame them for their fate. Several strategies lead to healing of trauma. Individuals should reclaim their history, end denial, and blame games. Add itionally, they should rediscover their culture and language that will give them identity and a sense of belonging.Language is the backbone of social wellbeing of societies. Languages help people to interact with others thus building social bonds. It helps communities to transmit their ideas and values to other people. Without language, people will not be able to communicate. Communication breakdown will occur, and generations will not learn about their culture. Pragmatic power involves reflection of the way of thinking of a community. First Nation Language emphasizes on culture and beliefs of communities that existed in ancient times. Culture and language face extinction because of the influence of western culture. Through colonialism, Europeans influenced the way of life of many communities. Their activities led to cultural erosion in many communities. People thought First Nation People would become extinct through assimilation. In addition, they thought because these people exis. ..
